Emancipation Monument in Richmond, VA

Blackhill worked with the landscape architect and installer from conception to completion of fabrication and coordination of delivery. Blackhill assisted with selection of the Virginia Mist granite that is local to the Richmond, VA area. Sophisticated yet understated thermal black granite helps frame the site for this monumental and historically significant work of public art. The company developed shop drawings, coordinated with the construction firm and the architect, and custom-fabricated radial granite pieces for the site of the memorial. Read the press release here.
